Saucer_Mid-vi.jpg (77318 bytes).................... Abduction

                        By Jan Madsen (IPMS #43032)

Some time back I decided I wanted to build a traditional UFO beyond Testor's offerings. However, I didn't feel like paying $50+ for one of the Adamski-type kits on eBay. So I went to the local Party City store and looked in their Plastic Tableware section for some likely shapes, which I augmented with a large Wendy's salad bowl. This is the result - not so much a flying saucer as a flying buffet plate. (Saucer_Mid) The project sort of extended itself while I built it, incorporating the HO-scale grass, trees, and cattle.

Here are examples of most the parts. I probably spent close to $40 on them, but since they came at least eight to a package, I've got lots of left over material to work with. When I added in the wooden base and the HO scenery, I was WAY over $50. (Saucer Parts)
