The U.S.S. Venture was once a Maquis Ship used in the Demilitarized zone after the Cardassian Wars were over. This ship was used to plague aggression to the Cardassians because of their beliefs that the boundaries should not have been made and their homes should not have been given away to the Cardassian Government.
But after the Dominion wiped out the Maquis, this ship was Re-commissioned as a Starfleet Fighter/Attacker and is being used as a first strike ship against Cardassian, and Dominion forces.
