U.S.S. Reprise
NCC-712
Razor Class Strike Cruiser
The U.S.S. Reprise is a Razor Class Strike Cruiser and was used to help out the Heavy Cruisers and other fleet ships during battles on the Tholian boundaries. It had many of the features of the Heavy Cruisers, except the mass tonnage was much lighter giving it ability to maneuver faster. These ships are the predecessors of the Belknap Strike Cruisers. These ships used the Vulcan Type IIV T-Kirut deflection crystal instead of the dish type of those times. The Reprise is noted for many battles in the Tholian War, and spent her peacetime service as a patrol ship on the Klingon Boundaries. She was also the only Razor Class ship to be upgraded with the newer warp design like that of the Belknap class, and served for an additional 40 years before being mothballed. She is still floating in the Federation Retired Starship Yard surrounding Outpost Pluto in Sol Jupiter.
This Model is another Kit Bash from the U.S.S. Enterprise Model kit from AMT/ERTL. I used spare parts from my sons left over F-18 model that he didn't use, and the small tank above the shuttle bay was a tank from a Farm set that they destroyed long ago. I used a variety of decals that I got from one of my club meetings, using the Saucer Hull numbers from an aircraft decal sheet, and the name from the AMT/ERTL decal sheet provided by the original kit. This model was also the first that I did, using decals as windows instead of painting them in. Plus I also did some weathering to this ship that I never did to my previous Federation ships by doing a Dry Brush first, then giving it a coat of Future and then doing a wash in the cracks and areas that would take. With a lot of manipulating, I got it together.
