Herman Munster

Well, in 2006 I went to the NNL eats, for those of you who do not know what the NNL is, it is a Very Large Scale Model Car Show. So what do I do? I walk around and look at the Jimmy Flintstone display and pick up a Conehead Bust. While looking it over, I notice that one of the hands is missing. Told the guy and he searched through his box and couldn't find it. So I went to walk away and he said how about this? And he held up Herman Munster. I have always been a fan of the Munster TV shows when I was a kid, so it was a done deal. He is made from Solid Resin, and I used a combination of Tamiya Paints, and the cheapy ones you get from AC Moore.
So I airbrushed him in Green, then lightly Airbrushed him in Grey to give him the best look I could. It was hard because in the color photos of Herman, he has been seen in three different colors. In the pilot he almost looked a Blue, in the series promotional shots, he looked a grayish Green, and the Munsters return Movie that was on TV, he looked a Dark Green. So I picked the best I thought, and tried to give him the Promotional Shot look.
After that was done, I added the features and painted where it was needed. My Buddy Doc told me a good hint, "Never have them looking straight Ahead, because they will look all wrong". I was worried about this because the sculptor put raised areas where the pupils were to go, but after painting him, they don't even show up, so I have his eyes to the side. I also added a darker area under his Uni-Brow because if the Photos I could find, the make-up Artists darkened this area, and then lightened under his eyes.
Then I gave him a Wash using Artist Oils.
Then after some dry-brushing, he is done.
