This design is something like the Frank Josephs Design you see in the Star Trek Technical manual. It kind of looks like the Dreadnaught Class starship with three Warp Nacelles. I have made an actual Model of this using the AMT\ERTL 18" Enterprise Kit that I call the USS Excalibur. The idea of this design is that it had three Warp engines, and the third is only used to allow the ship to enter the warp envelope faster. After it has reached the speed it wants, the third engine shuts down the the other two run to maintain the warp speed. This is why I have no vents on the support Pylon of the third engine. Because if the third engine were to be kept running, it would overheat. On the top of the impulse engines is a Deflector beam that is supposed to be shooting down to keep the Impulse Thrust from ruining the third warp engine. And on top of that, is sensor cluster for the Phaser turret targeting system. It was a neat little model to make and one of my First Kit Bashes.
